RECYCLE 'TRANSFORMER'

This was a cool experiment, creating a robot out of just cans (because the Transformers movie was out at the time).
This was done for Dave Boothman at WBDesign.co.uk who also coloured it and added a very cool 'Scott Summers red visor ' flare to the character! (nice one Dave!!).

WOLVERINE

OK, no portfolio is complete without Logan and i always loved the BWS Weapon X series..Fun to add splatter and tubes and all the fun detail stuff i enjoy doing (and i prefer the Dell'Otto knife style blades on Logan).

Thundercats, da dada daa, da da daaa!

Another picture for- http://elpiquedelmes.blogspot.com/

I loved the Thundercats, one of the best cartoon intros ever!

Not THAT scary!!!

Here's a bunch of horror villains (Freddy, Jason and Leatheface), once again, where bloodshed is involved there's a nice excuse for splatter (no airbrush, just a toothbrush dipped in ink...and sploosh!!!).

I'm not really a horror fan but drawing gruesome characters allows you to be more flexible with details, expressions and texture..

KADE

Pencils for Kade (an Arcana Studios character).

Future without Windows

This was before 'Mongrol Cortex', John Bamber had a space epic planned and i agreed to take various points in the plot to illustrate for a submission of the series ..(this involved a love triangle with the main characters, navagating an alien spacecraft and breaching a planet-wide forcefield amongst other things)....Phew!

HALO JONES

This was done for the first issue of 'Zarjaz', the fanzine for 2000AD and printed next to an interview with Ian Gibson.

Shame there isn't more Halo Books, loved the character and a great contrast to the rest 2000AD.........

Sniper and Rook

This was done for John Metych at Beta 3 Comics : http://www.beta3comics.com/index.html

Lots of fun to be had with splatter etc....

Thanks Dave!

This was a Cap sketch for Dave Boothman http://www.wbdesign.co.uk/

Always encouraging and helpful over the years and was happy to do this to say thanks!

Mongrol Cortex II

Not sure how much more was written for this. But this was to be the re-cap page for the next instalment.

MAGICSEEKERS

These were the original villains for Mongrol Cortex, i think Bamber had described them as 'miniture living cities' and they had a strange kind of Nano-technological background...(i always thought they'd make nice action figures)..

However, they weren't that scary (and since this whole book was aimed at an older audience, we could be more risky)...so a last minute re-think and we came up with the deseased body-absorbing creatures that finally saw print..

The original art (whoever has it) has the new villains painstakingly pasted over the top and i made sure each wound they suffered matched the originals (substituting sparks for blood etc)..

More 'Mongrol Cortex'

Here's more pages from the short story featured in MamTor's 'Event Horizon'

EVENT HORIZON

These pages were a fun to do, i'd managed to get on board 'Event Horizon' , an anthology through Mam Tor Press (Liam Sharp's Imprint). Nice guy Liam, very helpful and encouraging (very handy when it's your first properly printed work and you've no idea what you're doing!)

.

The story was called 'Mongrol Cortex'

This was written by John Bamber (Britcomicart.com) and I had a blast adding details, not to mention a complete revamp of the villains at the zero hour

.... (more on this later).

VENOM

I'd been asked by a co-worker if i could knock this up for his son...If only he could remember the name of the character!

Mike: "He's one of Spidey's best enemies, black costume!"

Me:"Ah, you mean Venom!"

Mike:"Nah i'm sure it's something else!"

Me:"Well, let me know!"

....after a few days

Mike"It's Venom!, can you do it tomorrow?"

WOLVERINE

Aah, possibly a bit too ambitious, number 3 for 'Elpique' and i'd started again a couple times after experimenting with the colours (gaah)...

Sabertooth was inspired by Bianchi's version who i thought captured the berserk animal side of Creed perfectly.

Wolvie, i wanted to have the movie costume with more comic-type hair..

Watchmen's Dr Manhatten!

I liked the film, ok things had to go to make it a, shorter and b, tighter structure!....

Many 'aah, well, the book is different', types of conversation!

This was number 2 for 'Elpique', much more pleased with this one, and completed it in a day (a rare accident).

FIRST PIC! "ASH"

OK,

To get the ball rolling, here's Ash from the Evil Dead series of films!

Yes, i watched these films when i was a kid, good fun and not really that shocking by today's standards..

This was to be the first picture i did for the blogsite "Elpiquedelmes". MJ (my Sweetie) introduced me to the gang and i did this with enthusiasm and gusto...pity the file was corrupted or something and never got seen...but here it is, yaaaaaay!

My Own Blog!

Well, ok, that was easy.
Thought i'd start this up as a means of posting things quickly and also something just a bit more accessable for anyone else. As this is the first post, you'll see a massive glut of images as i flood this new blog with my stuff....
I am this productive....honest!
